Business Coaching for Entrepreneurs Who Want the Specific Next Step

Work with a business coach for entrepreneurs who finds your one binding constraint, sets a 90-day target and uses AI to scale your service business.

A business coach for entrepreneurs should do one thing better than anyone else in your life: tell you exactly what to work on next, and why.

Not a list of fifty ideas. Not a pep talk. The one constraint holding your business back, the decision you need to make about it, and the specific steps to fix it at your stage of growth.

I've coached service-business owners since 2019. Everything I teach comes back to the same principle: the specific steps that need to be taken in order to be wildly successful in business and money. No fluff. Here is the method, the scorecard I use to find the constraint, what each stage of growth needs, and how private coaching works.

The Two Comma Boss method: five steps

Every engagement runs on the same five steps. You can use them on your own starting today.

  1. Diagnose. Find out where the business is actually weak, with numbers, not feelings.
  2. Decide. Pick one constraint, one owner, one 90-day target and one weekly number. One of each. When everything is a priority, nothing moves.
  3. Delegate to AI. Hand repeatable work to AI agents, with a human checking, so the hours go to the constraint.
  4. Convert revenue to wealth. Growth that never turns into reserves and assets is just a bigger job. Every dollar gets a job.
  5. Compound. Run the cycle again. Each 90 days builds on the last.

The "Decide" step is where most owners get stuck. They know three things are wrong and try to fix all three at once. The discipline of one constraint and one weekly number is what makes progress visible.

The six-part scorecard: find your binding constraint

Score six parts of your business from 1 to 10. Be honest. Then fix the lowest one first.

  • Demand. Do enough qualified people know about you and raise their hand? Is lead flow predictable, or does it depend on referrals showing up?
  • Conversion. When a good prospect talks to you, how often do they buy? Is there a repeatable sales process, or does it depend on your mood that day?
  • Delivery. Do clients get the result consistently? Could someone other than you deliver it to the same standard?
  • Retention. Do clients stay, buy again and refer? Or are you refilling a leaky bucket every month?
  • Cash flow. Is there money in the bank when bills and payroll hit? Do you know what the next 90 days look like?
  • Leadership capacity. Do you have the time, team and decision-making structure to handle more? Or is every question routed through you?

Why the lowest score wins

A business grows at the speed of its weakest part. If conversion is a 4, pouring money into demand just sends more people into a broken sales process. If delivery is a 3, better marketing creates more unhappy clients faster.

That weakest part is your binding constraint. Fixing it first is the highest-return work you can do, because it lets everything else you've built actually pay off.

Two practical rules:

  • If two scores tie, pick the one closer to the cash. Conversion before demand, cash flow before leadership.
  • Re-score every 90 days. Once you fix one constraint, a different one becomes the lowest. That's progress, not failure.

If you'd like a guided version, my free Freedom Assessment takes about four minutes and points you to your one binding constraint.

How to scale a service business through the four stages

The constraint that matters changes as you grow. I map growth in four stages, the same ones used in my free book.

Six figures ($100K–$999K)

The owner is the business. You sell, deliver and run operations. The work here is building a clear offer, a demand source you can repeat, and a sales process that converts without you heroically saving every deal. The binding constraint is usually demand or conversion.

Seven figures ($1M–$9.9M)

The owner can no longer do it all. Delivery has to work without you in every room, which means documented systems, first leaders, and cash flow you actually forecast. Constraints here tend to be delivery, retention and leadership capacity.

Eight figures ($10M–$49.9M)

Now it's about the team that runs the business. Leadership, management layers, clean economics per client and per channel, and decisions made by people other than the founder.

Expansion ($50M–$100M+)

The questions get bigger: competitive advantage, risk, ownership and how the company keeps growing without the founder at the center of it.

Grow from six to seven figures: what usually changes

This is the jump most of my clients are making, so it deserves specific attention. The patterns I see most often:

  1. The offer gets narrower before it gets bigger. A clear result for a clear client sells faster than a menu.
  2. Selling becomes a process. Scripts, follow-ups and proposals that work when anyone runs them.
  3. Delivery gets written down. SOPs turn the way you do things into something a team can repeat.
  4. The owner buys back time. Repeatable tasks move to AI agents and people, and the freed hours go to selling, relationships and strategy.
  5. Cash gets a plan. Revenue gets converted into reserves instead of disappearing into lifestyle and surprises.

AI helps with every one of these. That's why I built Two Comma Boss AI with agents for content, sales, SOPs, SEO, paid ads, project management, financial planning and wealth strategy. But a rule I repeat often: automate a process only after it works by hand. AI multiplies whatever you give it, including the mess.

Business coaching for coaches and consultants

Business coaching for coaches and consultants has a specific challenge. Your time is the product. Every new client takes more of your calendar, so growth eventually caps out at your energy.

Coaching for expertise businesses focuses on breaking that link without losing what clients pay for: packaging your method so it's teachable, documenting delivery, building leverage through group or productized offers where it makes sense, and using AI to remove the admin that crowds out real client work.

Frequently asked questions

What does a business coach for entrepreneurs actually do?

A good one finds the single constraint holding your business back, helps you make one clear decision about it, and holds you to a 90-day target and one weekly number. The job is not motivation or a pile of ideas. It's focus, the specific steps that matter at your stage, and the accountability to actually take them.

How do I find my business's binding constraint?

Score six parts of your business from 1 to 10, which are demand, conversion, delivery, retention, cash flow and leadership capacity. Be honest. The lowest score is usually your binding constraint, and fixing it first moves everything else. Jay's free Freedom Assessment takes about four minutes and is designed to find that one constraint for you.

How do I grow from six to seven figures?

Most service businesses stall because the owner is still the engine for selling and delivery. Moving past that means a clear offer, a demand source you can repeat, a sales process that converts without heroics, documented delivery, and healthy cash flow. Fix whichever of those is weakest first. AI agents can take repeatable work off your plate so you have hours to do it.

Do you coach coaches and consultants?

Yes. Jay has coached service-business owners since 2019, including coaches, consultants, agencies, practitioners, real estate and mortgage professionals, and local service owners. Expertise businesses have a specific trap, which is that the owner's time is the product. Coaching focuses on breaking that link without losing the quality clients pay for.

How much does private coaching cost?

Private coaching is by application, and the investment is covered on the free consultation once both sides know it's a fit. Private coaching includes everything in the Two Comma Boss AI platform. If you want to start with Jay's thinking at no cost, read his free interactive book, The Art of Building an Empire.

What happens on the free consultation?

You apply first so Jay can see where your business is and what you're trying to do. Jay takes the calls where he's confident he can help. On the call you'll talk through your numbers, your likely constraint and what working together would look like. If it isn't a fit, you'll leave with a clearer view of your next move anyway.
